i just bought a 1995 del sol a few weeks ago, and when i'm driving, especially on the freeway, all i can here is a very very loud (sorry about my description now i don't know very much about cars) RRRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM sound lol the whole time i'm driving, it's coming from the back and i have no idea what it could be, help please?

 

Really vague. Could be anything with the technical sound effect you listed. Have you jacked the car up and inspected in the area the sound is coming from? Did you not test drive it before you bought it? What was the previous owners explanation?

 

i'm a girl.. i'm not into cars, i apologized for the description in advance. No, i did not test drive the car before i bought it. i have not spoken with the owner since i bought the car. it has been jacked up and looked at, there was a leak in the exhaust that was fixed and it still makes this sound even after that.

 

Don't know what being a girl has to do with anything. Now not being a car person is a different story.

Is it an exhaust sound? Bearing? Need something more to go on really. Is it just that you have one of those cheap Ebay exhausts and it's just damn loud?

You may have to provide some video with GOOD sound to get more help.

 

Wow, NEVER buy a car you don't test drive. With that being said my first guess would be bad tire. Take the rear tires off and put them on the front of the car and vice versa. If the sound moves to the front it's your tires.

If that doesn't work my next guess would be your wheel bearings. Try the first though before we go further.

Has the car been lowered?

 

i'm pretty sure it has been a bit lowered, theres after market springs on it so someone had been playing around with it

 

its probably an alignment issue. if your car is out of alignment then its gonna start eating your tires 24/7 lol. go look at your rear tires and see if the tread is worn out really bad in certain spots. if it is then you need to get a 4 wheel alignment and some new tires. mine does the same thing so i have to get it aligned every so often.
