Default Odd Sound coming from right rear area.

Ok, for the past few weeks this really annoying sound has been coming from the right rear of the car. I looked at the rear right wheel and I don't see any odd metal or anything hanging out....

but what happens, is that almost randomly this annoying sound that kind sounds like a load Jingling (like the kind you hear on those christmas tv shows when Santa is coming ya know? Like jingle bells).. its kind of a cross between that sound and if you took a handful of change and jiggled it around. It's also fairly loud and embarassing to drive when it starts goin off.

Any ideas what it could be? Sometimes it makes the sound, sometimes it doesn't.... I'm hoping its nothing serious, and that its something stupid like a rock in my brakes or something.

Any help would be great! I don't wanna have to spend the money to have it looked at by a "pro".

sounds like a heat shield. slide up under your car and smack at your exhaust, if it makes the noise, heatshield. jack it up and pull it off.

depends on if it's rusted. could take 5 seconds, could take an hour. all it is, is a piece of sheet metal either bolted around your exhaust or one bolted to the car above the exhaust. yes, it's useless.

while you have the car up in the air turn the rr wheel by hand and see if you hear the nois it could be a wheel bearing

while your spining the whell with your hads. litsen closely to the wheel hub. you should remove the rim it would make things easier. well spin the wheel hub and if you hear like a grinding noise or a hizzing noise coming from the hub than that means your wheel bearing is bad and since hondas wheel bearings are sealed it means you have to replace it.

Default woo hoo, fixed it!

Alright thanks for the help guys.

I figured out what was causing it. (So far so good anyways...)

I rolled the back end up this morning so I could get under the back and after tapping around I noticed some odd racket coming from in between the rear heatshield. I looked at it and in about 2 seconds realized it had a bunch of rocks and crap in between the exhaust pipe and the shield.

So I of course decided to take off the heatshield in order to get the rocks out. In case anybody didn't know already, taking off rusted heat-warn bolts without using something like WD-40 first, is a horrible idea. 2 of the bolts stripped and the other 4 snapped in half. Just great. I went and got new 10mm bolts and nuts that would replace the snapped ones but I figure whats the point, this thing is useless anyways, so after some wiggling and a little bending of the clamps that hold the heatshield, I was able to just pull it off.

I drove it around for about 20 minutes, and no noise. So I'm hoping that was the ticket. I guess if the noise starts again I'll take out the jack and test that wheel.
