Today I put oil in my Del sol, filled it up till it read right up to the 2nd dot on the dipstick. Disconnected my injectors and my turbo drain line (that way i could see when it had oil through the turbo)
Cranked it over for about 7 seconds 4 times.
And still no oil came out my drain line.
I unhooked my oil feed line (from my turbo) and cranked it over 1 more time (this time for about 5 seconds), and still nothing came out.

I didnt wanna continue after this lol.

Before all this I put a little bit of oil in each cylinder so hopefully it wouldnt wear them down as much while it got lubbed up.


Any ideas on what could be wrong?
Do i continue cranking over for longer time?

idk how long it takes oil to get from the drain pan to the oil feed, but if you did an oil change, its still gotta fill up the new filter and go through the head

if you dont have an oil light indicating low pressure, i'm guessing just letting the turbo un dry for a moment wont do any damage

 

So you think i just need to crank it some more?
I have a oil pressure gage in place of the stock oil sending unit. I just havent hooked it up yet, waiting on wideband gage.
I was just trying to get some oil through my lines to see if i found any oil leaks.
Engine was without a oil pan and filter for about 4 weeks. (was covered up with plastic bags though)

 

hook up the oil pressure gauge and fire the car up. i never understood the whole "prime the turbo" thing. hondas build pressure so quickly your turbo wont even have time to think.

 

Right,I think you are just over reacting a little.
If it makes you feel better,pour some oil into the turbo by hand before you start it up.

 

100% agree with that. Ive never understood the point. Theirs really no need

Well everywhere i read it said to always do that before start up.

 

Its personal preference i guess but in all reality it pointless and not needed

 

Was oil getting to the turbo before? If yes then fire it up and drive.

 

Turbo was just recently installed. Car hasn't been fired since the install.
