Resistor box for 01 integra type R
Good afternoon everyone, I am a new user to this site i have been out of the car scene for awhile now and decided to get back in.That being said i have a question any answers will be greatly appreciated. I own a 01 acura integra type R and ive decided to go boost. i just bought rc 1000 cc injectors and some people are telling me that i need a resistor box for them, is this true.Oh and I am also going obd1. Thanks
Welcome.
To be honest, RC-1000's are garbage compared to the new high impedance injectors available these days (ID1000's, FIC, etc).
Do it right the first time. Sell the RC's and buy some new high impedance injectors that do not require the resistor box.
This will allow you to avoid hacking up the OEM wiring, and the ID/FIC style injectors run so much better than the old RC style injectors.

While he's correct about there being better injectors these days, I wouldn't say you have to hack up the harness or that rc1000s are complete junk. If your injectors are low impedence then you'll need the resistor box and you can get them from almost any obd0 Honda/Acura. It's very easy to wire up, only 5 wires.
Do you know if they are peak/hold or saturated? Peak and hold would be low impedance. If you don't know, you can test them with a volt meter, check the resistance on the injector, they should be between 1 and 4 ohms if low impedance (peak/hold) or between 10 and 15 is high impedance (saturated).
They are low resistance Peak/hold injectors.
