I've got a 96' Civic Coupe that I'm wanting to put another motor into. What other motors will fit without having to modify?

you currently have a d16y5? d16y7 but if your looking for performance the d16y8 would drop right in with little modification

nothing because the Y5 has a special engine harness. I wouldn't try swapping in anything cause you'll likely **** it up like most people do. If you put the Y8 valve head, you'd have to get a new engine harness, ecu, dizzy, etc. etc.

if you plan on swapping that in, you'll also need his intake manifold, and all that comes with it.. also I have dibs on that swap.

I know. my coupe is originally an HX. some kid pulled it all and put it in a crx. why take from a perfect dentless car. I don't get it. then cut the wires right inside the cab from the fuse box (passenger side). and pull the ac evap and blower.

Basically MandyMayes, put me at the top of you sale to list if you swap followed by fleabag please

I used have a HX and they were quite unique. I put on 300,000 miles on it before I sold it. I would get the y5 rebuilt if you have a manual transmission. If you have the dreaded CVT instead the 5 speed, I would replace the whole drive train. Of course, you will need a different ECU and wire harness.

It's even worse than that... You need a different engine harness and manifold because the CVT HX uses a 3 wire IACV valve and has a narrow band o2 sensor..
