okay so i just downloaded crome 1.5 version and my question is what is the difference between crome 1.5 and crome pro??
can i still tune my car with the 1.5 version??
also can someone post a pick of what is needed to plug into the ecu to get started with crome?? your help will be great. thanks

 

Difference is that Crome pro has more features and you can datalog. Kind of an important feature if you want to tune the car yourself.

1st, do you have a chipped ECU and a wideband O2 sensor?

Here is a good link showing a basic kit for tuning. However this would require Crome Pro. for the emulator and datalogging.

Honestly, I would save up the money and go with the Neptune Demon package. eCtune Demon would be my second choice.

 

Or you can be like when I first started. Laptop, crome free, chip burner, vacuum gauge and the driver yelling out the RPM. LOL.

Seriously though, take GhostAccord's advice.

 

If you are going to spend the money on a datalogging cable, romulator and the crome pro software; you are much better off spending that same money on hondata s300 or neptune.

 

Why Neptune over Ectune if you don't mind me asking ? Customer service ?

 

I've been a loyal eCtune supporter over the past few years. However, I've been having some issues with it lately. Formatted my laptop and did everything I could do. Still haven't been able to resolve an eCtune error I get when I try to register. Every other piece of tuning software still works on my laptop.... They tried a manual reg string but it didn't work ether. Last I heard was, "Weird man" and I have dropped the issue for now.

When we start going back to the track in the spring I'll have to figure something out, Neptune seems the best choice.

 

Have you tried emailing Calvin or posting up on the Ectune forum ?

 

That is who I was troubleshooting with.......

 

Neptune's customer service is top notch. The guy answers emails usually within 24 hrs and even calls you if the problem can't be solved via emails.

I've heard NOTHING but complaints about eCtunes customer service.

 

Calvin always got back to me with in a reasonable time limit. It just seemed as though there was no care that I was a paying customer in need of a resolution to an issue. He made me jump through hoops for two days. When he could have just generated a license manually from the start, then gone from there. 3 days wasted still no resolution! Other than, I guess, I am to assume that it's my computers fault.
