1) wideband O2 sensor
2) laptop with tuning software such as Crome, ECTune, Uberdata, etc
3) chip romulator such as Ostrich by Moates.
4) chipped/socketed ecu (P28 is most common).

if you're using neptune rtp you dont have to worry about burning chips. it updates real time. a wideband is a must if you want to tune safely and accurately.

almost there... (items are in this order for a reason)

1) membership to PGMFI.org
2) laptop with tuning software such as Crome, ECTune, Uberdata, etc.
3) chipped/socketed ecu (P28 is most common)
4) chip burner such as the Burn1 by Moates
5) datalogging cable
6) wideband O2 sensor

additional items that will help ease things
7) emulator such as Ostrich by Moates.

the most important item you'll need.... time to learn and experiment
there is no manual for this sort of thing, there are many how-tos but since every setup is different it's always a trip into the unknown.

I've been at it well over two years and I still learn something every time I touch it.

youll be fine, altohugh knowledge is the most important. When i was 17 i was handed a p28 and hondata s300 and a lil soldering station. Came out golden, i continued to build the car to the fullest and it was quite impressive, i learn by doing things myself. Dont be afraid of all the tech talk, just do some reading and dont get intimidated. If your not sure you have google but beware of the contradiction between users.
