still over heating problems please help
Well I checked my hoses radiator thermastat and it all seems fine. My thermastat looks like new it looks like the previous owner changed it and the car has 119xxx miles and I've put 3000 on it and its sat for almost a yr. Don't really drive it much. The only thing I can think of is the water pump? What r signs of 1 being bad? My radiator isn't clogged nor my hoses ripped. I even bled the system for any air bubbles but I can't think of anything else so any suggestions? I let it sit @ home and its koo but when I drive it for a lil bit it heats up and the reserve box over flows bad ;{
How long does it take for car to overheat? Water pump sometimes squeals when its goin out. What about a blown head gasket? Does it smoke? Water pump might leak out of weep hole as well.
i would check the color .. of the oil .. see if its the head gasket.. do u have ur heater box installed .. is ur carpet wet... look for leaks near the water pump .. or ur radiator could be leakin
why not check the simplest problem... does your damn fan kick in?
my old DC2 was heating up and found out my fan wasnt going on... so i just wired it to a switch.. tada problem solved for me..

Can find out in about ten minutes whats going on.
Make sure your head gasket isnt blown out by checking for exhaust from your cylinders in the water jacket. This can be done by....
1. let engine cool completely.
2. remove radiator cap.
3. top off coolant in radiator.
4. start engine and observe the liquid in the radiator (with cap off of course)
WARNING! be careful to not burn yourself during this. The coolant will start off cold but will began to get hot as the engine heats up.
5. once the engine warms up the thermostat will pop off and coolant will start to flow. (you should feel the top radiator hose become more stiff or rigid as the coolant is circulated by the water pump)
6. now observe the liquid in the radiator as it is circulated. ALSO watch the exhaust coming from your tailpipe for white smoke.
IF YOU HAVE A LOT OF SMALL BUBBLES LEAKING TO THE SURFACE YOU HAVE A BAD GASKET!
IF YOU SMELL EXHAUST AND MAYBE EVEN SEE EXHAUST LEAKING FROM THE RADIATOR OPENING YOU HAVE A GASKET LEAK!
7. DO NOT let the engine run much longer past this observation because the coolant will boil and leak out not to mention suck air bubbles into your coolant system. Shut off the engine and let it cool before touching the radiator.
If you DO NOT see this you should start looking for issues with your fan and listening for a whining water pump.
Best of luck.

It starts to heat after 10 mins and I do see bubbles @ the surface of my radiator. My oil is fine. Don't see smoke coming out my muffler. I was also told to let it sit for a good while to see if any air was in the radiator and I probly didn't ltet. It sit for too long. I never had this happen before with my old radiator
