Car is overheating daily help!
My car was fine up until a couple of days ago when all of a sudden my car overheated rapidly. I had to add water to the radiator and reservoir and luckily the car started up with no problems and temp read fine.
Now ive had to add water to the reservoir and radiator everyday for the past several days. Today I noticed what looked like oil or almost like a brown watered down paint coming from my radiator.
Is oil mixing with the water in the coolant. What could be causing this? Please help.

Re: Car is overheating daily help!
The last couple of times I drove it, after a couple minutes of driving. After turning the engine off I could hear a loud noise like pressure coming out of something. I could see steam coming from around the radiator engine area. So this is a blown gasket huh...

i would have thought the headgasket was blown because oil got in the coolant
but the idea of a waterpump going out seems ideal
water pump goes bad >not fast enough cooling > blowing the headgasket

Re: Car is overheating daily help!
Headgasket was fine, there was no oil in the coolant. Apparently the culprit was the fan not turning on at all which lead to it overheading and caused a hose to rupture. Leading to loss of coolant and overheating.
I changed the bad hose and bypassed the turn on of the fan by exposing the two wires that go into the switch for the temp sensor and crossed them. That caused my fan to be on whenever the car is on.
Car is running good! Its a tank!

It shouldnt be on all the time. Put the wiring back the way it was and check all the hoses and rad for cracks. Might want to change the water pump if it hasnt been done. And the timing belt and tensioner at the same time.
