Homemade Breather Set up
So I have decided that paying 200+ for a breather set up is a rip and I am trying to make my own.
I started off with a water bottle I found at home.
Went to lowes for some fittings. Had some radiator hose laying around. Bought a filter from pep boys. Ordered block fittings from honda.
And this is what I have so far. Not done of course. Only thing I wish I would have done different so far is the filter, its rather cheap. Would have been the same price just to wait for a moroso to be shipped here.

Thanks. You ride bmx?
I'll post pics of it completed but it won't be on the car for a few more months, I'm in the middle of a build. My head is currently in California at Laskey Racing.

^^ Thats sweet I still have a S&M Holmes NG semi complete and a Standard TRLS250 OX that I still ride occasionally.
I got some more done on the can. I was planning to JB Weld the fittings into the can but I drilled the holes just the right size, and since the fittings are tapered they fit very tight as is. I am just concerned that they might come loose over time. Now I just have to do some more sanding and then decide if I want to paint it or just hit it with some polish.

No steel wool. I've heard of people buying those shower ***** 'lufa' and sticking them in there. It's better then nothing at all.
I did not put anything in the can yet. It will def not be steel wool. I'm not afraid. Of it rusting, bit I am afraid of it breaking apart and getting into my oil pan.
I like the idea of using a loofa, but then I'm afraid the 200+ degree oil will melt/deform it.

On larger engines they have a simular thing they call a colesor. it has stainless wire mesh about a 3/16 squares cut to fit then stack like 3 to 5 inches in breather can. hope you under stand. on yours you would have to cut the bottom off then flip it upside down. they are also tied into the exhaust and acually keep a vaccum on the crankcase. or you could get some aviation safety wire which is stainless steel like .041 or .032 and start shoving it in. would give same effect less bs. hope helps
