hey h-t im trying to find out were i can get a new
vin# on my dash since i replaced my dash cuz it didnt have
one when i bought the shell can somebody tell me what to dot

You can't just get a new VIN plate from Honda for the dash. I believe CHP can issue a new VIN though.

when my car was stolen they took the vin off the dash. when i got the car back and registered they just put a new plate on my inner door, i dont think you can get another vin put back there.

If your trying to get new vin on dash not likely you will . You will have to set appointment with chp and they will rivit it to the driver side door jamb. Trust me I've done it already.

 

so they will inspect the car cus i bouth the shell with nothing so i had to get motor doors n interior from ppl on craiglist n h-t will they ask for receipts for everything its all stock

There are three main vin location: firewall in bay, the driver side of dash, and a sticker on the driver door jamb. When I went to chp they took my car to the back.. Inspection was like an hour iirc, so Im not sure what they Checked (although I seen Hem personally checking my motorcycle when it was salvage and vin missing) but i doubt it's thourough. Sorry asses cant rivit an effin plate lol

 

Don't worry if you don't have the dash vin theres not a charge for it . Or atleast I didn't have to pay anything. Maybe not to chp but prolly to DMV . Good luck!

Yes dash vin and firewall are required. DMV will look for that if one is missing or been tampered they'll deny registration til you take it to chp. Here in Cali you gotta be legit!

 

Ha, in Ohio you don't. Only people to ever inspect my car was the bank and they just wanted to make sure the loan they gave out was being given to a working car.

 

You could drill out the rivets for the old vin plate on the dash and get it riveted on to the new dash. Rivets and rivet guns are cheap.
