B18c1 longblock is on an engine stand mounted with the 4 arms going to tranny bolt holes. The issue is I have a Unorthodox crank pulley which doesn't allow me to use the Honda crank bolT remover tool. The pulley spinning isn't a problem because I have the flywheel secUre.
I am worried that by wrenching the crank pulley bolt off with a breaker bar the stress might warp the block since it is secure on one side by the flywheel and all the torque is going to be on the other side the crank pulley side.
Is it ok or what should I do? Thanks

I just got it loose with pb blaster and a tire iron. Hope everythigs all right. Loud pop
No. Blocks only warp with excessive heat. It's pretty common to wedge a screwdriver in the flywheel teeth to hold the crank while loosening that bolt.
Never use heat to loosen the crank pulley bolt when you have a harmonic balancer with rubber on it.

If I was serious about work on cars - I'd set aside $100-300 bucks and look around for a good cheap air compressor that can handle at least 120 PSI and get a harbor freight 1/2" impact wrench rated at 400FT/LB minimum. That way you can always spin tough bolts off quick without having the bind up anything. If you shop around you can find compressors and impact wrenches cheap. Especially at CL, EBay or even local garage sales and flea markets. Best thing I EVER purchased was an air compressor. I had a Sears oil-less, 25 gallon 120 PSI compressor and one of their medium sized air impact wrenches. That was the first thing I bought for the compressor. Still have it today, 20 years later (The air tool that is). The compressor I upgraded. I now have a 60 gallon upright tank with a setup that I builtt - 2 5HP Air Pumps and 2 5HP 220v motors. Again, a great investment. It probably cost me about 1000 to build, but it paid for itself in the next 2 jobs I did with it.
JMHO.

Yes but not as much force as the engine can push through the crank, so it's easily able to withstand it. Unlike the normal combustion force, this is entirely rotational and more force is required to twist the crank than to bend it.

^Huh? anyways, i got all the bolts off just fine with a breaker. I also have not come across a situation to warrant the purchase of an impact/air compressor set up, maybe when im ready for paint =]
