Default Speedo Malfunctioning after Wire Tuck ?

Hi guys

I recently wire tucked my EG and now my Speedo is malfunctioning.

The speedo works 100% fine with the Headlights turned off, however once i turn them on, the rev counter stops working and the temp and fuel needle shot right to the top. If i turn the headlights off everything goes back to normal in a sec.

Ive removed my dash and cut unwanted parts of the loom like the radio, lighter, clocks.

ive double check my earths and they seem fine.

note, all the components still work, the lights, wipers, indicators etc, but its just the speedo which does funny things when i turn it on.

Any help please ?

If a "wire tuck" means you go around snipping wires, just stop doing things like that. What does it accomplish besides screwing up the electrical system? Please don't say weight savings.

BTW, you probably cut a ground somewhere and the headlight circuit is backfeeding and messing with the speedo and God knows what else.

I would say back feeding is your problem like DELuth said.
