Default Help! Neutral Safety Switch? No Crank

1992 Honda Civic Si

Ok, so the other day, I go to start my car, and there is no cranking at all. No nothing.

I look down at the floorboard and the little pedal stopper was laying there. Ok, no big deal, I get a new one from Honda and put it in.

But now I still can't get it to crank or anything! I am really doubting the likelihood of the Neutral Safety Switch failing at the same time as the pedal stopper, but who knows.

Is there anything I should have to do after putting a new pedal stopper in?

I need my car to be able to start! I can only start it by popping the clutch, and that is very inconvenient.

Thanks Honda-Tech

If you can roll start it, then i would say it would be the neutral safety switch, you can bypass it to test to see wether or not it is that

What is the best way to bypass it? Jump the connector with a paper clip or something of the like?

does the switch height need adjusted? maybe when your pressing the clutch in its not pressing the switch in.

No it's being pressed in just fine.

What if when I bypass it, the car still won't start?

you can bypass it by jumpering the harness as someone else said. if it starts you have a bad switch, if not it's something else. you can also test the switch with a DVOM and see if its working or not.

If you have cruise control, the clutch pedal has two separate switches. The upper one is the safety starter switch and the lower one is the cruise control switch.
