ok my problem is this, i was wraping my turbo mani with heat wrap, so i took off the wastegate. when i put the wastegate back on i forgot 2 hook up the hose from the turbo to the wastegate. i went out for a ride, runing normal i got on it a little bit and ran great 2 redline. i drove it about 2 more miles 2 the gas station ran fine pulling in but when i went 2 stop the engine cut out. went 2 start it and it would crank and crank, after cranking it a few times and pushing the gas peadle it turned over but if the idle went down it would shut off. so i made sure the idle didnt drop, then the check engine light came on. when i was driving at low rpm1500-2500 it would drive ok. but above 3k (around where it builds boost) the power would break up and it would spit and spuder. i got back 2 my garage and looked over the set up, no leaks,no hoses off,checked the spark plugs and all 4 are black. theres not any knocking,cracking...just wont turno over unles im giving it gas, then it runs like garbage. I NEED HELP, some 1 please throw some thought my way.

 

if the line from the wastegate to the turbo is not connected then the car will run unlimited boost, not good for a stock engine....... you may have popped your headgasket causing your crappy idle due to loss off compression....

 

or broke a ringland. Do a compression test and see.

 

ok ill comp test it 2night, its a stock d16y7 so it more than likly blew
