b18b1 full swap... cant shift into reverse! anybody got an idea what it could be?
just did the swap.. its a stock b18b1 with the stock hydro trans. everything outside seems fine although the guy who took it out stripped 2 of the mountings and broke off another
fixed this only to have a slip off the truck..

so i gess my question is do i get a used gsr trans with the shorter gears earlier than planned or is there an easy fix? (in the manual it says something about a reverse bolt?) also is it possible to mess up reverse and not 5th? could i have messed up mounting the linkage? could the fall (3 ft) hve bent something internal? also as soon as i start the engine it runs very rough for about 1 min then runs great, what could that be?
Any help would be great.. thanks

Make sure it actually WON'T go into reverse. You can do this with the car on or off, but try going into reverse from all gears (except 5th, obviously). You really should have had the car secured, in a forward gear, and with the brake set...
i will try that asap, thanks. and how do you mean? anytime i had axles and wheels in/on the car was compleatly stationary.. and i didnt tear out the trans so i dont know what gear its in... is it possible to damage the internals with a fall (besides the part actually hitting the ground)?
obviously a big one... i was working with a "pro" so i didnt want to argue... new question though... if i want to use my integra harness so i can plug everything up normally is there a converter harness that goes between the harness and the instrament panel/firewall wiring?? or should i jusr tear it out of a wrecked teg?
If it can go into 5th than the linkage is fine. You have to remember that reverse has no synchro and is a straight cut gear. It tends to get chewed up and hard to get into. With the car stopped, running, and while to are trying to put it into reverse, try letting out the clutch very slowly.
As for the running rough for the first minute it could be bad compression. As soon as the car warms up and everything swells the rings seat better and compression goes up.
