Clutch Question
i got an 06 civic si and recently i noticed (and i can only hear this when im idling next to another car or something) but whenever i press the clutch down i hear a squeaking noise from the car and it happens every time i press the clutch down. what is this? oh and i just recently changed my transmission oil does this have anything to do with it?
I had an issue with my 09' Si and the clutch squeaking while decompressing it. This was about after 7K miles. I took it into the dealership, they first tried some lube, but that didn't fix it. They ended up having to replace the entire clutch. They said the clutches on these civics have a certain piece that is supposed to stay lubed internally for the life of the clutch. Hope that helps? :X GL!
^ like what the homie max said its def the throw out bearing. Im dealing with the same problem but I just purchased a exedy stage 2 clutch and flywheel. Suggestion might want to purchase a new oem throw out bearing to go with the upgraded clutch.

To anyone replacing a clutch, if all you have are bolt ons and ecu work then I would stick with an oem clutch or maybe just a stage 2 disc with stock pressure plate. My oem clutch held 300ft/lbs and 400whp fine. I've heard too heavy of a pressure plate is hard on a stock master cylinder.
I'm running stock pressure plate with a cc stage 4 clutch disc. It has a stock pedal feel which I like because it's light but the disc is aggressive. It not bad at all but chatters ever so slightly which I can live with, but I need it.
What are the sings of a bad throwout bearing?
What's wrong with your axles? They're pretty expensive aren't they?

the op the squeaking noise. darnell's car does the same thing. i witnessed it this past sunday.
nothing is wrong, but im nearing 80k and being dumped doesnt help with the angle of the axles. im just going to replace them along with the clutch to be better safe than sorry. nothing wrong with being precarious

Max don't forget I'm dumped as well. Probably more than you are. In fact I FORCED the rear to go lower than it was originally intended to go.
don't forget to change the piston rings; they might wear out some day.
New OEM Si axles are around $600 bucks a pop, so I wouldnt just toss them in for the fun of it.
