GSR in EG engine really hot!?
so basically i did a gsr swap in my eg and every-time i pop the hood just to look or something and in general then engine seems VERY hot but my temp gauge is not even at the hakf way point and i have a stock d series radiator, maybe im just paranoid but the engine itself seems pretty hot, and yes i know its a engine its gonna be warm but idk
dude if you went from d series to a gsr engine thats why you think it is hot.
i have a feels tuned b16 in my EG believe me the thing gets damm hot. the only thing you want to worry about is getting heat soak on your air filter.
just think how much heat the engine produces at 8500rpm. my rev limit is 9400rpm . just think of the temps involved at the high rpm.
if you are still worried get it checked by a pro.

Yeah, it's going to feel like it's hot... too hot to touch. That's normal for any engine.
What matters is your water temps. I've got a GSR running on a stock D-series radiator, and my water temps aren't any higher than they were when I had a D-series engine.
I have a digital temp gauge, and here's what I've seen:
Mine seems to run about 185-200 in the summer on the highway with the AC on. In traffic on a 100 degree day with the AC on, it might go as high as 206-208 before the fan kicks on and drops it back to 195. In the winter, it seems to do about 170 on the highway, and I've seen it drop as low as 100, coasting down a mountain in 3rd gear, off throttle the whole way.
Same temps as I was getting with a stock D-series. For daily driving, I'm convinced that a D-series radiator is enough for a GSR. 190-200 is normal operating temp for a Civic. Sheesh, 200 is nothing, my Cherokee averages 210-225 all the time.
