might have bought the wrong motor
ok so i just bought an ls swap for my 95 civic and im starting to get a little worried
im reading around on hear and lots of people are doing this swap with the b18b1 but the setup i got is a b18a1
did i get screwed?

The B18A is the oldest of the 1.8L non vtec b series with 130hp, and OBD0 electronic operating system, and came with a cable transmission.
The B18B was newer and came in both OBDI and II depending on the year and was rated at 142hp. It had a hydro tranny.
Parts can be swapped to make either engine work with other setups, but it will take time/money

No, it will not plug in, you have the wrong distributor, ecu, exhaust manifold/o2 sensor, engine mounts, and the s20 transmission...if that is what you got is a D series, not a B???

The '92 - '93 B18A1s were OBD1 and 140hp. Still a cable tranny though (but at least the '92 - '93 large spline guts can be dropped in hydro case)
oh yes, i should have clarified the 1990-91 were obd0 only
The electronics of the 92-93 being obdI does make things easier, but it still has the older style engine mounts, and besides the tranny still being cable, the shift linkage is different too

If you got an S80 transmission then it is a HYDRO transmission, not cable.
The cable variety carry either A1, Y1, S1, J1, or YS1 designations.
Sounds like you might have gotten a mutt swap with an older engine, but newer transmission. You really need to post more information and pics of plugs to help us help you in getting it swapped in.
If someone actually did swap out the cable tranny for a hydro one then they might have already swapped some of the OBD0 parts for the proper OBD1 parts to make it work in a 92-95 Civic.

BTW:
If you really do have an S80 transmission then it could be any of the versions since the sticker/stamp on the transmission means nothing in terms of what car it came from.
"Huh?"
What I'm trying to say is that you could have either the crappy geared LS/RS/GS/SE, the better geared GS-R, or the "OMG it's got the best gears and an LSD!" Type R tranny since it's an S80. S80 simply put means it came from any 94-01 Integra. The only way to know for sure would either be:
1. If it has a VIN tag (only 96-up had this) you can run the VIN and see what model it was
or
2. Split the case to count teeth on gears/FD and do the math.
It's likely the long geared LS/RS/GS/SE one, but you never know until you count teeth. It'd probably be a good idea to split the case anyways just to see if the synchros/hubs are beat to hell.
