Help: B18A into EJ6 (1996 Civic)
I would like to get info on what to get/what to do to make this swap possible. My friend is giving me the engine for free so I can't pass up that deal. I tried searching but swaps are mostly on B18Bs or LSVTECs. Any tips or links will be greatly appreciated, I just don't know where to start.
Please, no suggestions of "just get a different engine" because I really am on a tight budget.
Thank you in advance!

b18a swap is pretty much the same as a b18b swap..everyhting should plug up even the computer if its obd1.as far as tranny as long as its hydro it should work.theres a b18b swap thread floating around refrence that its the easiest swap for a ej eg chassis.
whats the motor coming out of
year make model that would help?

I believe it came out of a 92 Integra. My buddy that's gonna give me the engine said there's a thing to convert cable to hydro transmissions.
My only issues would be the harness, ecu, mounts. Will those all plug in even if my car is OBD2? I forgot what OBD the 90-93 Integra has. >_<

Is the B18A from the 92-93 Integra OBD1? Should I just grab the whole harness from a 92-93 Integra then buy a jumper harness for the ecu?
And as for axles/shift linkages, which ones would work?

axels and shift linkages you can use from the donor car, but if you change out the half shaft, then you would need a different driver side axle.
you will also need a 99-00 civic Si rear bracket to make this work, reuse your tranny top mount, and if i'm thinking right you will need to change out the driver side motor mount (the one bolted to the block itself).

Om my....lets clear some things up here right now........
DA integra's ALL had cable tranny's. No big deal, source out a hyro tranny and you are set!
For mounts, use either your stock or 94+ integra
DA Integra's had different OBD
- 90-91 were OBD0
- 92-93 were OBDI- which what you have, great, just reuse your original wire harness, plus the ecu from the B18 will plug right in, it should be a PR4

Re: Help: B18A into EJ6 (1996 Civic)
Thanks guys for all your input!
So if what I understood is correct, the parts that I need are:
-ECU from the 'Teg
-Axles & shift linkages from the 'Teg
-Hydro tranny OR Cable to Hydro conversion kit (I saw an example on PW:JDM)
-As for mounts, I'm getting aftermarket ones
@Deetz
Hey fellow Albertan,
For the harness, did you mean the original harness from the 'Teg or original harness from eh EJ6? So I won't need a jumper harness anymore?

Use the original harness from "your" car. For mounts, i spent a lot of time researching them, only 2 companies makes mounts i would personally use....either Hasport or Innovative

LOL! Just driving around Edmonton?
Gonna head to the junkyard today to source out an ECU and look for linkages/axles.
And looking at jumper harnesses on Rywire.com, or maybe you guys have any suggestions on a cheaper jumper harness?
