my buddy has a tyype r and the same thing happens only in third. he had synchros fixed.,.. nothing.. third gear changed...nothing. it is a 2000 and still to this day it still grinds. he is afraid to take it to anywhere else than acura b/c might void 7 year warrenty. already went through 3 third gears. i would also like to hear of any suggestions
I have a 2001 ITR and the fvcker always grinds into third. I have had it fixed by the dearlership and the dam thing still grinds. I would say try putting some GM syncro mesh in it maybe that will help.
make sure you're depressing the clutch pedal all the way to the floor when shifting... that might help.
also, like someone else mentioned, try changing your tranmission fluid. Honda MTF should be fine.
