Default Transmission "sticking" ??

Hi, im in a '99 honda accord with 150k miles. the car runs perfectly fine except when it switches from 1st to 2nd gear (automatic transmission)... as it is switching, the RPMs rev up (even if holding steady on the gas peddle, i.e. normal acceleration) to around 3k and drop right back down as it settles into gear. and, when driving the car uphill at slow speeds (10mph or less) it will struggle to decide which gear to be in, switching back and forth between 1 and 2 (i assume). and finally, the car switches "hard" in every gear. id say atleast 50% of the time you can REALLY feel it shift, there is a a bit of a jolt as the gears change.

oh a quick note: when shifting from 1 to 2, if i were to try and accelerate fast the RPMs go even higher, redline even, before it settles into gear. its seems to me like the car, for a moment, goes into nuetral and the engine revs up then the RPMs drop as the gear finally changes.

has anyone experienced this problem? what can i do about it??

I have that same problem with my daughters low mileag Accord. I'm trying to find the answer for it also. Ours only does this in second gear. The rest are fine. It also only does it when the car is cold. When it is hot the tranny shifts fine in all gears.
