Is it true if you mis shift, like 2nd to 5th, you can mess up your 3rd gear syncro's? Everytime I pass 4,500 RPM and shift into 3rd it grinds. Even if I do it slowly. Yes the pedal is to the ground and no I don't slam the gears. I have only went into 5th from 2nd once and that was because of a shift linkage problem but thats fixed now.

I did by some Gunk TrannyMechanic. Says helps harder shifters and what not.

 

Well, if you did it only one time, it wouldn't have caused that much damage. Your 3rd gear synchro is going out. Your dog teeth are probably worn down to **** and that's why the synchros can't equalize gear speed when you shift. Time for a rebuild

Did you change the transmission fluid?

 

Replaced it with what Honda told me to put in it.

I would try Honda MTF. Which transmission is this? Did honda sell an LSD transmission in the US?

 

I think about that a lot. Can't really think about anyone out there. Its a JDM Tranny with JDM B18C. Honda said they use 10w-40 on all there LSD trannys. I didn't think it was thick enough.

 

Acura puts Honda MTF into the ITR transmission with the same LSD as the JDM SiR with LSD. That very well could be your problem.
