Help with seats
So I recently bought a pair of matching recaros supposedly out of a crx dont know the year but they look like the seats that came in my car with a except the inside pattern is different and the head rest is adjustable. Well while i was too busy admiring the tearless and cig burnless seats MINT, I didnt check the bolt pattern on the doesnt line up with the brackets I have all the measurements are off from my stock seats so im starting to question if theyre even on of a crx theyre black with a gray center all the way up to the headrest vs. stock ones that stop just below the headrest about 5 inches. so im looking for the easiest cheapest way out even though its not looking that way its looking like hours of custom fabrication and hard work to get them to mount center. If anyone has gone through this or knows any shortcuts PLEASE post asap. I'd like to get these seats in this week so i can get my frame pulled and prep the car for paint before my swap. thanks for all the help and input ahead of time. Randy.
See I thought that as well and where the blots are located on the seats are wayyy different by far, the old seats I have are bolted on the outer edge and the new ones I purchased ones in the "correct" spot on the outer edge with the recline lever and the other is roughly 2 to 3 inches recessed into the edge of the seat any other thoughts?

Idk, all the measurements are off i dont know if the pan will bolt up that easy with out modding the crx pan unless its a guarantee that it will line up and bolt up. if in not im probably fabricating a fixed bracket in the car so i dont mess up my seats feed back please
Its not just a matter of swapping pans. If you want to use the crx seats then you need your civic pan because of the rails. Here is where is gets tricky. The crx pivot bolt is on the outer edge of the seat. The civic's pivot bolt is about 2-3" inside the seat. So you would have to cut and re-weld the civic pan bracket, which attaches to the backrest, to the outside of the pan. If your going to use civic seats in a crx then you re-weld the pan bracket to the inside. Its not the hardest thing to do but it does require welding. I am using crx seats in a 90-91 hatch too.

It takes about an hour for each side. Your going to modify the crx pan to fit the civic backrest. The bracket on the crx pan will be moved inwards or you can move the civic backrest bracket to fit the crx pan. Which ever would be easiest for you. A decent MIG welder would do the trick.
Heres my idea let me know what you guys think!
Basically the side the seat belt mounts too extend it with 1/4 inch steel plating then shim the other side measure out the distance with my stock seat track to track bolt down on the shimmed flat track bot in. Ahead of time not just tacking it in full 4 way weld so it'll be strong i dont want to fly out of the car with the seat attached lol.

if you just take steel planks, and drill holes and bolt them onto the pans... you could just bolt the rails to those planks. no welding or modifying seats required... i think?
Yeah I bought the necessary things to start the mods I'm going to make my first build thread with pics wish me luck! I decided to go with shimming the mounted nut side and extending the track on the top end shimming the bottom with a piece of 1/4 inch stock and relocating the non mounted nut holes then drilling them and tapping with more 1/4 stock. I'll try my best to include everything needed and some welding.
