help: installing 92-95 EG rear shocks on 96-00 EK
Question:
I am wondering if anyone can help me figure out how to go about properly installing these EG rear shocks on my EK?
I know the mounting fork is bigger to fit over the bigger LCA bushings of an EG so I need to fill the gap between my EK LCA bushings and the EG shock mounting fork.
I have heard of people using washers to do this but to me that method seems a bit crude.
Is it possible to get a properly sized metal bushing/spacer to fit perfectly, or is there any other proper method of doing this particular install?
Answer:
YES! Spacers can be ordered. Tokico dealers can order them as Part No. SPACER-1 and they come in packages of 2 spacers (2 needed per shock/one on each side of the rear lower control arm). A total of 2 packs are needed for 96-00 applications (4 spacers total)
So anyone wanting to install 92-00 or 92-95 (EG) shocks on a 96-00 (EK) can order these and not have to grab a bunch of flat washers to fill the gap around the LCA! This CAN be done properly.
Here is a pic of the spacers needed.

I will remove pic at request of owner if necessary

only way i would think would be to change out the lower control arms... or just get the correct ones for your car.. i would prob. stay away from the washers...
well technically these shocks are for 92-00 according to tokico (illuminas)
but obviously they aren't the best fit for 96-00.
Has anyone here installed EG shocks on EKs?

i have but i replaced the control arms and i did integra rear discs at the same time so i had changed everything out at the same time... and the struts were off an integra... same as civic..

I found out that that tokico illuminas (92-00) and skunk2 pro-cs (92-00) come with fork spacers to fit 96-00 rear lower control arms. Mine however, do not have these so I have my local shop looking into getting the spacers alone.
I will update this thread if it is possible to do so. That way anyone else doing the same install can use the right parts.
