shaving EG lower controls arm?
i have EK shocks and need to shave the bushings on the EG lower control arm so that they will fit. how do you suggest that i do this or with what?
i had bought ek (aftermarket)lower control arms in hopes that they would solve this problem but was sorely mistaken to find out that the EK rear lca are too long and will not fit at all under the EG chassis. there for sale now by the way, TCS lca's for an EK

I suggest you purchase EG struts. Honestly, I do not think it is a good idea forcing suspension componets to work on a chassis they were not designed for.

never thought of that but that seems to be the most feasable and cost effective way to go instead of getting new rear shocks and or lower control arms

the lca is also about a 1/2" too long so it won't fit between the brakes and the chassis without having the trailing arm tilted out and at a angle which would be then undrivable

I just got won some tokico blues for a ek and I have an eg... How can I get them to work? DId someone say that the tokico's are universal for ek's and eg's with the use of washers? damn I hope I didn't waste my money...

don't listen to people who don't speak from experience.
I have done this a handful of times

yea, I have EK A'pexi's on my eg. Couple minutes with an angle grinder and they were good to go. I've had them on for over a year now, and they are fine.

I wouldnt pay a shop to do it, but yea, any shop can definitely do it. I dont know if the ek bushings will work.

They will work, or I wouldnt have mentioned it above. The OD of the bushing is the same, at 37mm. The only difference is the width of the collar.

Re: shaving EG lower controls arm? (vizsual00)
Why the hell do people post in threads like these if they have no clue about what they are talking about?
Emerika and a few others hit it on the head---just file or grind down the rear LCA bushing and the EK shocks will slip right over them. Problem solved, it's just that easy.

Re: shaving EG lower controls arm? (vizsual00)
its easy. just cut the buching short on the lower arms(have done that). i recommand using a hand saw. use any air tool to sand it down might creat too much heat and wear the bushing on your lower arm down.
