I running a hy35 on my d16z6. You should be fine. It's in between the t3/t4 57 and 60 trim.

I run a T4, RHC7, a little bit bigger than the holset you speak of..... full boost by 4500 on my poor mans R. If you got it, run it. plenty of guys on here run that turbo.... venture over to the holset thread, lots of information.

That will be perfect the 9cm housing will work well with the small displacement B16.

just a local muffler shop is what i would do
good luck
i think that turbo is absolutely awesome for anything 1.5-1.8l, damn good bang for buck turbo, you just don't have the hotside AR options your stuck with 9cm and thats the only one that works for the hy35, whereas a hx35 is slightly bigger with tons of hotside options t3, t4, open and dividedtons of option with the hx35,hx40 turbo's when you want to set it up for more power and more lag than the hy35 then you can step up to those as they are a great bang for the buck as well
