Default T3 turbo for 230whp?

I don't know much about A/R ratios etc, but really only know how to judge power output by turbo names. (T25, etc.) I had planned on running a T25 on my stock Y7, but got a killer deal on a T3 manifold so I may just go that route.

I've started looking for T3 turbo's, but don't want to purchase one that is too large. My goals on the stock motor are no more than 230whp on E85. (used for reliability more than power output) What size T3 should I be looking for? I'd prefer faster spool times over maximum power.

maybe look for a used t3 from a saab or thunderbird? i believe they were 60trim compressors with .63a/r turbines or if you are buying new the t3 "super 60" seems to be readily available

I used the t3 turbo from a t-bird turbo coupe and it was great for a daily driver. Made 220 whp on my LS at 12 psi. Very fast spool time and held it pretty well to redline. I am not sure of the specs on it though. I actually still have it if you are interested.

just slightly smaller than a "super 60"good if maxed out to about 300 on an efficient motor setup like an itr, i don't know what the max would be you could do on d would be prob good for 225-250 on a street setup, good bang for the buck thats not laggy and would seem like good setup for a daily, the only turbo comparable that would spool sooner would be a gt28r

another good turbo i've seen was a hy35, its the smallest of the h series holsets that i've seen, you can find them pretty cheap

The smaller t3 50 trim will do just fine. The t3 60 trim is a little harder to come by but a very good turbo.

the old .60/.63 t3 is a good bet for your goals.

keep in mind that with the t3 exhaust you can also look for a hybrid t3/t4 like a 50 trim with a .48 exhaust.

edit, just saw this is on a y7. go with the straight t3 for around town and daily driving

Thanks guys. I'll try and source on of the .60/.63's. Got some suspension things to get out of the way then it's all out on turbo stuff. Already have the manifold, just need to piece together everything else.
