t25 off an sr20 vs. t3 .42/.48 off a volvo?
is the t3 off a volvo with specs .48/.48 larger than a t25 off a nissan sr20? reason im asking is because im thinking about using a t3 off a volvo on my ls vtec revving to 8k? would this be a good match? i currntly have a t3/4 60 trim and its so laggy.

Re: (civic_ex_95)
i only want 250whp max. hope to make that at 10psi maybe a little more. does anyone know if a volvo turbo or a saab turbo .42/.48 is larger than the nissan sr20 turbo? reason im asking is because its a 2.0l and reves to about 7500. on my friends car it stops making power at about 7000. so it woulnt work for my car. but if the t3 is larger than that might be nice?

250whp. im making 215whp on the mustang right now at 6psi but there is so much lag on my t3/4 60 trim that i was hoping increase the boost to about 10-12psi and make about 250whp. this is on an ls vtec with a 10:1 compression ratio. just looking for a greater area under the hp-rpm curve.

I believe the Volvo .42/.48 is 50 trim.
And it is in fact larger than the Nissan style T25.
If you have to choose between those two, definately go with the T3.

Re: (EJ1 wilcox)
well by my calculations, aka: wild *** guess id say the volvo t3 50 trim might be ok considering the nissan sr20 has a 2.0l displacement and revs to about 7500rpm. i on the other hand have a 1.8l displacement and will be reving to about 8000rpm with a larger turbo. so it should feel somewhat the same as the t25 in the sr20? remember im looking for about 250whp and i have a 10:1 compresion ratio and i dont want to boost more than 10psi. i made roughly 155whp NA so i should be right on with the 250whp @ 10psi.

Re: (the.hamburglar)
Honda has a much greater volumetric efficiency than most engines. You cant assum that since a t25 feels fine on a Sr20, a t3 will feel fine on ur motor since its a 1.8L. I have a t3 .42/.48 on my sohc. Its a joke. It seems to pull best at ~3000rpms at part throttle. You need a BIG turbo for a b16. a t3 super 60 at least. The T3 .42/.48 on a b16 will die out so bad up top, and will annoyingly dip into boost at low/part throttle and highway driving, making you burn much more gas. My t3 originnaly came off a 3.0L mercedes disel engine, I thought it woudl be way to big for my d16z6.
Ever wonder why people get away with runnign holset turbos on there hondas that were meant to run Cummins diesel truck engines?
