heres my problem. i have a 92 lude S with a h22 swap. the check engine light has been coming on right away and stayin on. wont kick vtec at all and it bogs out. alotta power loss. when i plug the jumper wire in it wont shoot out a code at all. just stays on. reset the ecu(obd1) and immediantly came on again. can anyone help me figure out away to get a code so i can fix this???

 

Take it to an autoparts store and have them run an OBD scanner on it (usually free). I'm guessing your ecu is chipped since you can't get the flashing codes.

 

Does it not let you redline or redline when vtecs supposed to come on?

 

He already said no VTEC which will happen any time the CEL is on. When you jump the service check connector the car should be off when jumping and then turn the key to ON and it will flash codes.

 

Is the ECU a JDM or USDM ECU??

the car will redline but wont kick vtec. ill check that obd scanner and ive tried the shutting the car off plugging the connector in also and that didnt work. how do u tell what kinda ecu i have(first project lol)

What ECU are you using? Also, did you wire up VTEC when you did the swap? Just wanna make sure...

 

jus a obd1 and yes vtec used to pull extremely hard. now that the cel is on it wont..

 

More info needed here. Which ECU is it? Give the # and market.
