Okay so here are the Facts: I have a 92 EG B20V w/ a P72 running Hondata S200. I recently had to pull my tranny due to my clutch, long story short...Put it all back together now its throwing a Code 0. Its not the ECU as i have tried a diff. ECU and it threw a Code 6 and also tried my ECU in another car it ran fine. My car does start, it does run, runs Fine but C.E.L is on and it doesn't engage into Vtec. When I jump the Harness to test for codes, the Light goes off and stays off. I have check my grounds, I've check to make sure none of my pins on the harness to ECU came out, check my Battery fuse and other fuses and still can't get the damn light to go out. Input is appreciated.

You may just have a short in a service connector or CEL wire.

problem there is that Vtec Will not Engage.

You also might consider that loss of VTEC is a separate problem.

if it was a constant code then I could understand the short in the service connector, but it goes to a code six (ECT) on a diff. ECU, and my ECU works fine in a diff. car. Also I checked the Signal from ECU to Vtec Solenoid and Oil pressure switch and its all there. My thought was since there isnt a full constant signal, the ECU isn't giving a signal for Vtec to engage.

I'm completely clueless now, i have gone all over the car and even replaced the Main Relay.

you surre you didnt short anything out check your fuses! when you start the car does the check engine ligth turn rigth on or when you punch it till vtec and the ligth comes on????

Took the car to my buddies shop, who happens to be my tuner, and we tried 3 diff. ECU source. My ecu, his ecu, and direct from his tune editor. We did a few street runs and all of the parameters for vtec to engage are being met, but no signal from the ecu to engage. We checked all grounds, grinded the paint off and cleaned the contacts for the grounds and checked signals. Still nothing. I'm hoping to try a diff. Wire harness and see where we get from there. I'm stumped. Anyone have ideas?

Problem Solved!!

My mechanic at work looked it over and just started checking wire by wire, he happened to notice that the Vtec Pressure switch wire was making contact with the Coolant Temp Switch and in turn was causing that Coolant temp code. All said and done, he seperated the wires, soldered them and made sure there was electrical tape on em. Wow, something so STUPID, causing such an issue. Vtec engages and no CEL! Im one happy person.
