building my low comp engine with info gained over time from H-T!
hey guys, ive been a member here for awhile. and have been comming here before i was a member. Over time i learned about hondas and why i love them and figured i have enough know how to build my first engine in my garage :D i do have some questions along the way so feel free to chime in and this is going to be a long thread over a long time on every step of the way. so thank you honda tech for everything i learned and allowing me to do this on my own! Now mind everyone that i make 8.50 an hour as a staples resident easy tech... so this will be a slow building thread :D
Goals: have a SAFE 300-400 hp b18b. im not sleeving my block due to the extreme cost of it and i have no idea if there is a machine shop in orange county NY. im pretty sure the max HP to push on them is 500 hp so i want to be below that.
my first step is buying a LS block, I want to start from the bottem. Im going to purchase a Block and gut it out.. So far i have a Vtec oil pump, a tapped oilpan and i want to purchase a micro polished and balance crank for my first peice to the engine. Next are going to be Low comp pistons and reinforced Piston rods. I have yet to determine what brand.
