10sec honda with stock block
Are there many of these out there? Reason I ask is because I'm wondering if I should push my motor harder to try and achieve this. I'm only at 327whp on a stock B16, ran an 11.6@120mph in a 92 civic cx. Seven tenths of a second doesnt sound like much, but it probably requires a lot more than what I have.

whether or not it is a "good idea" is really up to you and no one else. How risk-averse are you? Do you have another engine in case this one destructs? I've never found the logic in pushing it "as far as it could go" and expect things to be reliable, simply because the engine could handle a few dyno pulls in optimal conditions.
This is where there are options to ensure the block can handle the amounts of abuse you plan to push it through. You won't see too many people here attempt what you're asking unless they have another engine or components handy to replace it wit over time. Many others look at that attempt as a ticking time bomb, and would rather do it correctly the first time.
So, long story short, no.. but you can go ahead and give it a whirl and see how far you can go.

a1320addict went 10s in his stock block gsr using C16 at about 450whp. Yes, it can be done but don't be supprised if for some reason your motor decideds to let go.

Agreed ! Unless you have spare motor then dont bother. A set of pistons and rods would do the trick though for not to much in cost. figure bearings pistons rods and a good bore/hone your set with the right tune

400 whp with that car and you'll be in the 10s. But like everyone else said, it's unknown how long it will last. Could be a year, could be a pass. Generally staying around 300-350 with a conservative tune is safe and usually reliable on a stock block.

I've gone 11.36 @ 127 with a shitty 60' in the same chassis and 365-375 whp on 93 pump gas (T3/T04e 60-trim). If I get it out of the hole better, I expect 11.0s with ease. I've been running this block (10.0:1 USDM GSR) at that power all year at the track and about 320 whp daily. 400 whp will easily get the EG hatch chassis into the 10's.
But like everyone else has stated, reliability will certainly be lower than if you just do rods and pistons. I expect my ring lands to be going any day now.

I went 10.8 on my bone stock ls/vtec. Eventually dropped some valves got another stock b16 head and put spring and retainers in it this time. Went 10.8 again on that motor. The motor lasted over 2 years with numerous events and tons of dyno pulls. The front of the block started to leak this year, a slow dribble and then at honda day it split from end to end. I did not pull it apart yet to see what broke but I am sure it will be pretty. My car weighs 2500 lbs btw.
Best thing about it. This was a total bs setup that I used because I had problems with my built motor and it lasted a lot longer then the built motor.

Even if you have money to blow, it would be a better idea to build an LS shortblock. Less expensive than replacing a whole block & head together.
If you really want to you can push it, but if its been pushed for while already, your chance for continued success is much lower. You need to ask yourself if that 0.7sec is really worth chancing your motor.

For the price of an ls bottom end. Hell yes it is.

How long it will last will depend on the condition of the motor. Do all your basic test; compression, leakdown, ect. If still healthy go for it cause obviously you want to.

My tuner went 10.9@132 on a Bone stock GSR block in an integra...made 460whp on an SC61 and E85...Ive been thinking this same thing with my car..been running all year on the power level its at... best so far is 11.54@123.15 and the car made 374whp 262tq....car weighs about 2630lbs when i did those times...trap says its making more like mid 380's... i figured if i can get my car down to 2500lbs and make 450whp i can trap high enough to run a high 10 sec pass....question is do i spend >$1000 and put rods and pistons in it and be like everyone else out there...or go for it ??? thing is my motor has had alot of abuse...167k original miles 600+ 1/4 mile passes...last leakdown and compression test showed good resluts 225 across the board and less than 1% leakdown..... To the OP id say it wont be hard for you to make it into the 10's...looks like your car doesnt weigh much....
