You used a switch to make vtec work, wow hella smart man. Try putting cars together right before ghetto rigging it

seems to me you answered your own question. your vtec set up was never hooked up/wired in to work. especially since its being ran to a switch which is activated by shooting power to it. wire it up directly to the ecu, then let us know after its wired correctly

if the selenoid works and everything is wired correctly then vtec should engage. You are gonna do more damage running it with a switch, not to mention flipping a switch at high RPM is quite dangerous. The usual suspect when vtec does not engage is low oil pressure. CHeck your levels and pressure before you do any further harm. Check your grounds also.

VTEC will not work if you are low on oil as well, just a thought...

hey, sry to hi-jack this thread but im having a similar problem, i am running an 89 std hatch, w/ b16a obd-0 swap, it has always run great, about a month ago i snapped the speedo cable ran around a couple weeks without it, but when i replaced it, vtec randomly works and when it does only for a few seconds. also my rev limit has dropped from 8200 rpm, to like 7800 rpm. i have no cel, or ecu codes. ive checked all my wiring, ive checked the solenoid, any ideas? i need my vtec!!!
