Default timing boosted b20...HELP PLEASE

hi guys,

so heres the deal i just got my b20 with built ls head back together and went to time it today heres what happened...
-aligned all my marks
-using brand new honda crv timing belt
-using semi new belt tensioner
-get the belt on, turn it over by hand and the belt jumps on the crankshaft pulley every time..

I can't figure out why it keeps jumping off the pulley so anyone who can help its very much appreciated!

** I'm also running a 19tooth water pump which is the ls water pump i believe**

did you try pushing the tensioner up to take up the slack and tighten it.

when you tensioned the belt did you turn motor 3 teeth counter clock wise then tighten the tensioner? This is what sets the tension on the belt!

no problem...glad to help. do this on all b series and d series motors and you will be golden. still check the timing by rotating the engine 2 or 3 revolutions and check again.
