Default need help with the vlalve stem seals and head questions on b20

New to this forums stuff but wanted to get some opinions on what you guys think is wrong with my car?
Its a 92 hatch with a 98 b20b out of a crv in it and all the sudden one day what looked like white smoke started pooring out of the exhaust so my initially thought was its a head gasket, so asked around a bit and did a compression test and the compression was fine so kind of excludes the piston rings thank god not necessarly the head gasket but we were still smelling gas, so i was reading around and some people say the valve stem seals go out easy on these motoros. So i went and got me some valve stem seals cheap took off the head washed it in a hot tank or whatever you wanna call it dried it out, and i dont have the honda valve tool to take the valves out so before i go any further the valves are still in there i would like to know what you guys think, do you think its the seals or possibly something else im missing, the pistons look good, the cylinder walls look good i would just think the seals are the only think that make sense but give me an opinion or somethin it would be good help thanks
