Default fuel pressure in excess of 99 psi!?!?!?!

hmm ok. Well. drag kit on a gsr...airtex inline fuel pump, vortech FMU 12:1 plate. Around idle I have about 45 psi Fuel pressure reading on my **** digy gauge I stole from my friend. At full boost it pegs out at 99 psi. IS this normal? I feel a sligggggght hesitation in acceleration when it reaches this insane number. Is it supposed to go this high?

thanks a lot

its never good to run that high of fuel pressure on a honda,it slows your injectors, overworks them and eventually kills them, but with a 12:1 fmu that is normal, your increasing your psi by 12 for every pound of boost over your base.so if you run 8 pounds of boost with a 12:1 fmu,you have 96 psi + your 45 at idle, thats crazy.its alwyas better to use bigger injectors and smaller fmu,are you running lean or rich??

my own set up is as follows:b16a3 in 95 coupe with obd1 ecu.im using a t3 saab turbo, with intercooler and all the trimmings(intercooler,BOV...etc.)im using 370cc rc's with a aem fuel rail(makes no differnce),vortech fmu with a 4:1 disc, walbro 255 intank pump.im using a vafc to lean it out for good idle.i had leaning out probelms til i ran the bigger injectors,im running about 82 psi at full boost of 10 pounds, then using the vafc to put it closer to exactly where i want it specificaly, all a fmu does is get you in the right neighborhood, they are not exact and not very trust worthy,if i was in your shoes, get injectors and a vafc, and see if you can put a smaller disc in your fmu.then your getting less stress on all your other components and putting more fuel in the motor where it needs to be instead of building useless pressure in the fuel lines.

I recommend knocking your timing to 12deg or less, getting 440cc injectors, afc set at -40% across the board hi and lo throttle, and base fuel pressure at 40psi with vac line disconnected and plugged...
