just wondering what is needed if anythin to run a nos setup safely on my car..
i drive a 98 spec itr pretty much standard enginewise..
from ireland and not too many people run it and not a whole lot of people to ask about it over here..
all opinions appreciated..

I have a Zex kit in my 94LS 75 shot.
Kit comes with everything except purge valve, I added the valve and an adjustable fuel pressure switch. 94

When running a nitrous system you usually want to have an intake and exhaust system at least. These help you see the most power with the nitrous system. You are also gonna want to run a step colder spark plug so you don't get any detonation.
Being a previous nitrous junkie, a 75 wet kit is very safe setup for a street car/dd. The zex kits are very safe and easy setups. Nitrous is definitley the most bang for buck power adder. WHile many ppl say that it is dangerous, I agree in the same way that I agree that anything is dangerous. Put a moron in control of anything and trouble will be the outcome. I still have a soft spot in my heart for nitrous but I finally got tired of filling up bottles and worrying about a pressurized cylinder of explosive gas riding with me in traffic. I decided to go turbo and have never looked back. Even my V-8 builds since have all been turboed. After buying a new kit, quality intake and 20 bottle fills your 1200USD invested. Not quite enough for a new turbo kit, but an excellent start to a quality used kit or put together quality setup. Granted tuning and more maintenace is required, but much better value in the end.IMO
I have the AEM CAI and a 5Zigen exhaust, the Zex is a dry system, 75 shot, other then the GSR tranny with Phantom Grip LSD MSD cap/coil/wiring and ZEX plugs, the engine is stock, I have spent more money on suspension then the engine.
The car is a 94LS, have had the ZEX system since 95, first 2 years of 1/8 mile drag racing, the next 7 year auto-crossing, and a DD up until 2 years ago when it came off the street for bodywork and paint, and better suspension.
A little over 225,000 K and it still runs like a dream, after sitting for a year in my back yard, [under tarp] it started on the first try, burnt off the oil I had sprayed into the cylinders for storage in a few min. and not a hint of smoke after and it ran strong, did a few pulls up our ally, [just to blow it out a little], then onto the flat-deck and the body shop for new rear quarters, but I digress.....
The ZEX system is probably the best investment I made for the car, the only problem I have ever had with it was running out of nitrous oxide, best to have two bottles, one in the car and one in the oven.
Hint, get the purge kit, it makes a world of diff.
I will stick with the ZEX system one more year, [on this engine] but up it to a 125 shot wet system, I have another 94 LS engine that I will build NA.

Any name brand ram air should suit you just fine. I've always used AEM though. And I would definately go with a ZEX wet kit. They are safe and reliable, and being a wet system gives you the posibility of running a much bigger shot later on.
A dry system injects only nitrous into your intake but uses your fuel pressure regulator to squeeze more fuel out of your injectors while the system is operating.
