What is the SAFEST way to run NOS on my R?
I've decided to go with the ZEX 75 Shot Dry Kit... I do not have enough money to replace my engine if it blows, but I do have common sense.. What is the absolute *SAFEST* way to run NOS on my R? Any parts suggestions and upgrades would be great. Thanks!

The absolute safest way would be to spray the nitrous somewhere other than into your intake tract. Maybe just vent it out your front grill to impress people.

LOL....I have to say, the purge valve is worth every penny it costs. It will make you look every bit of The Fast and The Furious.
Seriously, try the 50 or 55 whatever with the ZEX or whatever kit you prefer. Get a NOS purge valve (these aren't just for looks you know, they will ensure your nitrous line is not full of air). And you're set...

purge vavlve is an intimidation weapon....not as intimidating as a blowoff valve....but makes other races aware....u purge to clear the nitrous lines of the nasty nitrous....soo u have a fresh batch when u spray next...

not running it at alll...NOS is horrible on Honda engines
Oh and whoever said that a purge valve will make you look Fast&furious, they did not have purge valves! Yes, i know you were joking.
The purge valve, like other said, basically clear unwanted air, moisture, and stale nitrous from your lines, insuring a nice fresh full shot when you spray.
As far as running it safely, well, you have already started out good. The ZEX kit is a great kit. Reliable and as safe as you can get. The suggestions of colder plugs is a good idea. Honestly, a fuel pump at this time would be unneccesary. An adjustable FPR is a good idea though. Bumping up the FP slightly is a good safety measure. Also, since you are going to be running more than a 50shot, you should retard your timing by 2 degrees.
Nitrous can be just as safe as any other form of FI if used correctly.

If your car catches fire after a motorcycle drive by, you have to yell "NOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and hit the deck...then pretend nitrous is flamable and pretend your car blows up. Then you're REALLY Fast and Furious.

Re: What is the SAFEST way to run NOS on my R? (mplex2000)
wouldn't an explosion like that be possible though? I know nitrous isn't flammable, but doesn't it combust under extreme temperatures (especially if something like a NOS bottle was punctured by something like a bullet)? I remember seeing pics of a car awhile back where some guy left his bottle warmer on overnight (or someone was playing a really mean prank) and the bottle exploded and shot through the back of the hatch... -zack

yes it would be possible the whole reason you use nos it to create a larger and stronger explosion within the combustion chamber so if you were to add that to an open flame yes
The real thing is that no it will not explode in an open flame it will explode when the flame travels inside the bottle
Unlike the movie it would not be a fire explosion it would be more the kind you would get from a baloon, it would pop except more violently and probably send the valve and regulator off the top of the bottle flying throught the air
