All ACL "race" bearings are are bearings with an extra .001" of clearance.

i always thought they didn't have as many layers are regular bearings

i'm currently running acl race bearings in my d16 vitara build and have not had one bit of problem with them.

i also have ran the regular acl's, they are very good also

There are quite a few differences between ACL race and normal ACL Duraglides.

They are standard oil clearance, but can be ordered with the additional .001" of oil clearance if desired.

All the needed info is here:

You can polish off a few ten thou off the crank journals but that is all unless you want to risk removing the nitrided treatment. If you need difference sizes you go with OEM bearings that come in different sizes (colors).

not true. they are available in std size and extra 0.001" clearance size. the extra clearance bearings are denoted with an "X" in the part number. the ones without an "X" are normal clearance sizes.

I run acl race bearings in all my motors and customer motors as well and have never had one fail either. I have had failures with bearings of other brands though
