Default after boost disgusting oil fast

after i got my em1 boosted and tunned 12lbs the oil turns nasty brown black with in 1k my itr is running clean with no problem now after a year or so..

kinda a noob with FI so be gentle

I too have an boosted em1 and the oil turns like black water after 800miles. The oil I use is castrol regular 20w-50.

I'd say thats pretty normal... Boosted car running lower AFR's will dirty oil quicker. You have to remember that oil is not only a lubricant, but a CLEANER. I just changed my oil in my turbo'd DD and after 3500 miles my synthetic 20w-50 looked very dirty. No grit or rough feeling, just really BLACK.

The oil flows through a turbo that is hot as hell! That wears the oil quicker.

If you're getting blowby, look into a better way to vent crankcase pressure.

I run castrol gtx and the oil is still the same color as when I first put it in, I have used other oils and they all got dark really fast but not with the 10w30 gtx. very happy with it.

no it doesent smell like gas but i really need to put in a better catch can the 1 i got i made at work but its small and leaks i thought it would be cool to make outa c f dumb..lol maby its the route of it huuh..
