High oil temps
I am getting high oil temps on my new setup; they got north of 240* before I realized and shut it down. this was when I was just driving around town and I was not even in boost, below 4,500 rpm's. I have a built h23. I am running a -4 oil feed with out a restrictor on a journal bearing turbo. Could this be causing my high oil temps. I am also going to wrap my down pipe and install a turbo blanket. Also my water temps are 185*. What can I do to fix this? maybe a .065" oil restrictor.

Re: High oil temps
when im on the hwy, its normal for me to see 230 degrees or so cruising at 70-75. @ 80+mph itll go up towards 250 degrees.
I dont see an issue with it really. if you are worried perhaps you should get an oil cooler.

Re: High oil temps
I think that I might have to. My theory was that by using a .065" oil restrictor the turbo would be flowing 1/8th the amount of oil through, in turn limiting the amount of oil being superheated by the turbo.

Re: High oil temps
I am reading them from the oil sandwich plate on the back of the motor. I installed an .065" oil restrictor today and a turbo blanket. Hopefully the test drive goes well tonight.
