Found my LEAK....
Finally Success...
I found the rear leak
After tearing into this car for the last three weeks I finally located the Ef'in leak.
I at first thought it was the taillight seals, so I replaced them with the scratch built ones, it slowed the leak way down.. BUT I still had a small puddle.. Finally had time to crawl into car and had wife spray the exterior startinf from the bottom up... the damn thing would leak when we pointed the water at the gap between the bumper and filler panel... Look for the circle's in the pictures, the first is where the leak was happening followed the seam seal in the corner and ran down into spare tire well. On the outside, the seam seal was missing from just above the bracket... as a side note, obvious this pos was in an accident.
although the title was clean and carfax showed nothing. the outside pic shows where the seam seal was missing... and the last pic is how much I had to tear the car down until I found the leak..
Now onto the front leak under the passenger side dash...

89 - My Uncle lives in Kirkland, He found a place local to him that was called AutoTrim... or somesuch... they carried all different types of sealant etc, I bought a tube of seam sealer from the local auto paint house... its a 3m product in a sausage looking tube. I smeared it all over around the bracket along all of the seams in the corner, etc... just waiting for it to harden now.
As for the front, glad that was a big tube... Look what I found.. the first pic is where its leaking at and soaking the carpets... again, RTV stopped most of it , but I think the seam seal is cracked as well... I will smear some of it on after it drys up.

wtf??? theres actually a bead of rtv around where the tailights go? who does that...there should be a foam gasket right there lol...why would there be anything on carfax for a 20yr old ef hatch? not like it was taken to a honda dealer for anything lately...carfax sucks anyways it didnt say anything bout my friends acura being repaired after his gf ripped the front end off, and the dealership fixed it!
Hatchet, anything I find on this car does not surprise me... I picked it up pretty cheap, had 140K on it, and documented timing belt and clutch at 105K. I have met the original owner.. she sold it to a kid, who had it for 35K and pretty much trashed it. Its a budget car totally, and like I said, I take something apart, I find a new surprise waiting... I'm using it to teach my 13 year old about cars, and hopefully he'll get into it enough that we make it a clean ride for him when he gets his license.
If not I'll play with it.
