I have a built sleeved D16z6 in my 91 civic hatch and my GT3076r seized on me about a week ago and i ordered a holeset hx35w about 3 days ago and i want to know if anyone has ran this turbo on a d series before and what kind of lag and boost characteristics did it have?I have buddys that run them on H series and B series and dont have a problem but d series don't flow jack thru the head so im just curious what to expect boost wise cuz im guessing it will come on line about 5K-5500 rpms correct me if im wrong tho lol

oh ya im also running a top mount and yes i know thats gonna create more lag but better top end and the head is a stock vtec head which is fail i know im gonna be upgrading it soon

 

I had th HY35 on my sohc non vtec. 8:1 comp stock Y7 head. made 330/280 on 92 oct with full exhaust

Are you doing a divided manifold? my non divided HY35 on a log mani spooled at 5k, pretty violently went from 5psi to full boost. but it was fun, and made power until 7500, where i believe the head was killing it

 

ya i wanted the hy35 but the hx35 was the only one i could find fairly quikly and i dont have a divided mani i need one but i have a vtec head that flows better than a y7 by a lot lol

plus my motor is 9:1 so that will help too 8:1 is low is it vitara build?

ya, it was a vitara, stock length rod setup. never got a chance to put the built Z6 head on it, sold it the weekend before BOTI oregon

 

he replied back and he has never ran a hx35w before so ya still would like some info if anyone knows anything

 

Isn't there a massive thread on here about stuff like this? I think it's called "Holset Users Unite" or something like that. I bet your answer is in there, but it will take a while to read.
