Default Differences with diesel turbos

I was talking to someone that was saying he has a turbo for my motor he's trying to sell. He only wants $300 for it, so I want to make sure its a gasoline turbo, because I don't want a diesle turbo on my teg. Could someone tell me if there are any differences in the appearance of the two?

Thanks

if the flanges are the same, i don't see why it wouldn't work. alot of guys on here use holeset turbo's from diesel trucks.

one thing commonly with diesel turbos is that the tubine housings are usually much bigger, could result in longer spool time. I could be wrong tho.

I am not going to say you are wrong. I have a Holset HX25W that is intended for a 4L Diesel engine and it has the smallest of turbine housings I have ever seen...tiny.
I think my D16Z6 that is going in next will have a lot of fun spining that thing in no time.

Find out what turbo it is, or get some specs on it. Ive seen huge diesel turbos, and Ive seen some tiny ones. I saw a couple guys trying to put some old Garrett diesel turbo on a DSM and it had a huge turbine and tiny compressor, they didnt realize it wouldnt spool or make power worth a damn.
