Default First time cleaning engine Bay: NOT GOOD! HELP

ok so i bought the car about a month ago, noticed it was burning oiled so a buddy gave me a car of engine degreaser and told me cover dizzy intake n battery, shoot the entire bay, let sit for 20 min and wash down, so i went to the local DIY carwash and did that. i then ran the car for about an hour and such and went home to park and it was fine.

today i get in my car, drive half a block notice the car bogging.....poof CEL blinking. so im like WTF!!! so i drive to work doing ****in 45 from westchester to queens. and when i get to work notice the motor vibrating alot. so im thinkin...misfire? or maybe cyclinder not working? so one by one i unplug spark plug cables while its running to see which cyclinder is it. when i get to the second i get electricuted and notice something HORRIBLE!!

SOMEONE TELL ME that its ok!

tell me i should just use a tooth brush to clean inside those walls, change sparkplug and sparkplug cables and ill be fine right?
and what pisses me off most is that i checked to make sure that they were sealed and tight fitted before anything. wtf.

what im doing while im at work is, after my drive to work, and noticed that, i left them out of the engine to dry, and let the heat evaporate w/e the **** needed to.

yea blow it out with an air hose and there shouldn't be any rust inside there. I would get new plugs and wires asap tho. also check your distributor cap inside there.

youd be surprised where water can get when pressurized to 2500+psi. next time stand back a little farther. you should be okay after a tune up, just make sure you get all the water out BEFORE removing the plug. It also wouldnt hurt to change the oil. If your spark plug oring seals are bad (which they dont appear to be) water could of also got in the crankcase. When theres a chance of water in the oil its always better to be safe than sorry.

Yeah. How many times have you seen DIYers not change the oil after head job and wonder why the knocking started 30 minutes later. Oil changes are a bit of a hassle for all of us, but come on. Unless you forget the 2 rules of oil changes then it can never hurt.
1. Tighten what you loosen.
2. Put oil in.
