Now I understand that JDM is better due to performance and such, but does anyone know the real differences? I mean USDM would be alot easier to repair, as JDM would cost alot more in the end. But if anyone knows the difference, plz let me know.

higher compression-more power
cheaper
easier to find
not harder to repair

USDM
lower compression
more expensive
you will know the exact milage of the engine

if you plan on going turbo, i wouldn't suggest the JDM unless you change the internals...10.6:1 compression is rough for forced induction

 

Higher compression, more agressive cames, larger openings for air.

 

But from what I understand, jdm will cose more to repair here in the US, no?

i thought jdm engines also won't pass smog too? That's why some hybrids have to hide their engines or pay off people

 

they could...kinda hit or miss

just find someone you can pay...thats the best way

 

a friend of mine here swapped a jdm h22a into his 93 prelude si. he passed emissions w/ flying colors. he put his stock exhaust back on, of course.
