Car ran fine yesterday then today the first time I get in it it won't turn over to start.

everything is working up to the point when I turn the key to start.

main relay good, fuel pump good, I checked the ignition switch and did get some unstable readings in the first position, but second position and the third position "start" read stable continuity.

So next down the line would be the starter solenoid I think can someone help out.

thanks, and BOY do I feel stupid now as soon as I read it I thought of course thats were its at, duh.

Anyway thats what it was the black wire was not seated all the way in.

My wiring diagram said black/yellow stripe but it looked more black/white stripe.

It could have just been faded. anyways started right up after I pushed the wire in a little.

p.s after being shown how to check the starter selonoid various times i still forget since its an internall selonoid. i amost threw one away because i forgot how to check it and though it was bad

 

Check the clutch switch on the clutch pedal sometimes the rubber falls out of the pedal there fore not operating the switch

wouldn't you know it the problem came back today.

this time when I unplugged and plugged the wire back in the car still didn't start.

I got it to start by tapping on the starter with a screwdriver handle while my wife turned the key.

Is this a common problem?

Just keep your wife under the hood with a rubber mallet.
Problem solved.

 

Vtec won't activate with the wife in the car :palmface:

 

She can even make vtec noises AND blow off valve noises!
It will make you sound hard core race, yO!
