Failed on first
My car failed to start on the first crank this morning. There was only a loud tick sound coming from the starter motor though. I turned the key to off and restarted the car. It started right away. This is the second time it happened in the last 2 weeks. On both occasions it was in the morning after sitting there for the whole night. Is this a symptom of my starter motor about to fail? Had a Mitsubishi in the past and it was the fault of some brushes that required changing in the starter motor. Could it be the same for Honda? I have a B18c5.

Re: Failed on first (garyc17)
that click is the solenoid engaging, if that black wire going to it is loose (which happens a lot) it will fail to start, and click, or, it could turn over, and half way in the crank over, start clicking, and fail to start the car, check that small black wire on the starter, its the IGN wire from the key, if it is loose, it will do that, i found that out after going to walmart, came back, and my starter clicked, i was like wtf, and checked that first thing, problem solved, never happened again.
