arp rod bolts...
hi, __________gsr
this morning i put new piston rings on pistons and inserted them in the cylnder
the eagle rods that are in there, iv read 30lbs and 40lbs of torque which is true? using 30w oil this time. reusing bearings also.

depends which size rod bolts you have the torque specs will be diffrent.
3/8" rod bolts are about 45ft/lbs (or was it 43ft/lbs???)
5/16" rod bolts are 28ft/lbs
both those specs are used with arp moly assembly lube. if you only have engine oil the specs will be diffrent and no one will be able to give you an acurate spec.

they all have those numbers on them.
the only other way to tell the two sizes apart is by the size socket you are using.
if you are using a 3/8" socket you have a 5/16" rod bolt. 28/ftlbs
if you are using a 7/16" socket you have a 3/8" rod bolt. 43-45ft/lbs
